Our dog wants to go in the car but not poop in the backyard. He refuses to come down the stairs until I tell him we are going in the car. You can train your dog to go poop, potty, outside easily by tricking him with a treat like going for a car ride as a reward for going poop outside. We did it and have had excellent results.
